Woodworking School Instructor Lesley Gold
Lesley Gold is a full time instructor at PFW. She has pursued the arts throughout her years, and holds a BFA in Textiles from Savannah College of Art and Design.
Lesley’s introduction to woodworking began in the Fall of 2011 at Philadelphia Furniture Workshop. She studied with Alan and Mario at PFW for two years, honing her hand tool skills, learning woodworking vocabulary, and principles of furniture design. In only her second year as a woodworker, her Thomas Jefferson Lap Desk was published in the Reader’s Gallery of Fine Woodworking (Dec. 2012).
In 2014, Lesley enrolled in the Cabinet and Furniture Making program at North Bennet Street School and graduated in 2016. She also has two years of work experience in traditional upholstery.
Lesley has an energetic appreciation and love for traditional craft and places a tremendous emphasis on craftsmanship in her own work, both in fibers and wood. She brings this attention to detail and demanding quality ethic to her teaching duties at PFW.
