Spray Finishing Techniques
Instructors: Mario Rodriguez and Alan Turner
9:00 am - 4:00 pm (day)
Maximum Class Size: approx. 12
Offered by request of our students, PFW is offering a fast-paced weekend class which covers spray finishing techniques. It is designed to teach these techniques in a most hands-on manner.
Bring your completed (but unfinished) Total Beginner 1 bookcase, Total Beginner 2 coffee table,
Pembroke table, Windsor chair, or Nakashima table in for the ultimate
finish. Students will bring a fully sanded, unfinished, piece of furniture built at PFW to the class, and at the end of Sunday, each will take home his or her piece which is completely finished with one coat of traditional sander sealer, sanded out, and two coats of nitrocellulose lacquer. It will need only to be rubbed out by hand after a week or so of curing time.
The skills covered are: preparing finish material for a spray gun, the principal types of spray guns, setting up to spray at home with water-based finishes, spraying techniques, and spray gun maintenance. Also covered will be
touch-up, color matching, and surface repairs.
Cost: $350 (including lunch and materials, but not including a student’s personal VOC rated vapor mask). This is for finishing one piece. For each additional piece, add $25 for materials.
In order to register, please call us at 215-849-5174, or drop us an email and we will forward the registration materials.
