Short Course

Shellac:  Buying, Preparing, and Using

I
nstructor: Alan Turner/Mario Rodriguez
6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. (evening)

Max Class Size: Approximately 12

Shellac:  it’s not just for breakfast.  This is the original finish, and in our view one of the most beautiful.  It is an evaporative finish, made from dry flakes dissolved in denatured alcohol.  When dewaxed, it is as good a basic sealer or conditioner as there is.

In this one evening course, learn to buy, mix, and apply shellac.  We will cover brushing and rubbing, as well as discussing the spraying of this versatile finish.  Included will be tinting shellac and applying it as a toner to even out irregularities in color.

Class:

  • December 6, 2011

  • March 13, 2012, Tuesday evening

Course fee (including materials) $85
