Make a Fine Drawer

Instructor: Mario Rodriguez
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Maximum Class Size:  12

A beautiful and serious piece of furniture deserves a fine drawer. A good drawer should glide easily into its place, without excessive effort; without sticking, wracking, or rattling.  Made of solid wood and featuring hand-cut dovetails, strong, slender sides, and a paneled drawer bottom, a well-made and properly fitted drawer should enhance a viewer’s experience and fill the maker with well deserved pride.

In this workshop, students will learn how to:

   • Select and mill material,

•Design a drawer appropriate to the piece,

•Layout and cut drawer (both half-blind and through) dovetails

   •Carefully construct a first-class drawer

•Fit a drawer in both flush and frame cabinets

Cost:  $340, including lunch and materials.
