A beautiful and serious piece of furniture deserves a fine drawer. A good drawer should glide easily into its place, without excessive effort; without sticking, wracking, or rattling. Made of solid wood and featuring hand-cut dovetails, strong, slender sides, and a paneled drawer bottom, a well-made and properly fitted drawer should enhance a viewer’s experience and fill the maker with well deserved pride. In this workshop, students will learn how to: • Select and mill material, •Design a drawer appropriate to the piece, •Layout and cut drawer (both half-blind and through) dovetails •Carefully construct a first-class drawer •Fit a drawer in both flush and frame cabinets Cost: $340, including lunch and materials.
