DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO THE STUDIO
The Workshop is located in an industrial building, located behind a row of residential buildings in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, on a flag lot/property, with the driveway being the flagpole. Following our directions, you should be able to easily locate the Workshop.
From the West:
Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 276) to the King of Prussia exit (Exit # 326). Go straight through the toll booths onto I-76, known locally as the Schuylkill Expressway, eastbound. Proceed 14 miles to Exit 340B, Route 1 North (Roosevelt Blvd) (right hand exit) bear to the right.
After the first exit on Route 1 North, a fourth lane of traffic will form on the Right, bear to the far right and take the next exit. This second exit (Wissahickon North, Germantown Ave, and Wayne Ave) has several names, and no number. Note that the first exit also has various names, including Wissahickon Ave. South.
The Exit ramp immediately divides; bear to the left. You will be on Roberts Road, but there is no street sign to that effect. Proceed 3/10 miles and take the very first left onto Pulaski Avenue. Proceed up the hill on Pulaski Avenue approximately 7 blocks.
On the left is an elementary school, and at the far corner of the school property is Hansberry Street. Our building is located several doors past this intersection, on the left. You will see an open chain link fence gate, and a long driveway leading to the building.
From the South: Take I-95 to I-76, known locally as the Schuylkill Expressway, Westbound towards King of Prussia, to Exit 340B. As you get past
Center City, there will be three lanes of traffic, continue past the Girard and Montgomery Avenue exits. As you pass the Montgomery Avenue Exit, you will pick up a fourth lane of traffic on the right. Move into the far right lane and exit at 340B, Route 1 North. Note: the two right lanes of traffic must take this exit. Route 1 North is also known as Roosevelt Blvd. When you first enter Route 1 North there will be two lanes of traffic, increasing to 3 lanes as traffic from I-76 Eastbound merges onto Route 1 North. After the first exit, traffic will increase to four lanes. Take the second exit. This second exit has a number of names, and no number. It is called: Wissahickon North, Germantown Ave., and Wayne Ave. (Note that the first exit also has various names, including Wissahickon Ave. South).
The exit ramp immediately divides, and you want to bear to the left, which is
From the Northwest:
basically straight. You will be on Roberts Road, but will not see any street signs. Proceed 3/10 miles and take the very first left onto Pulaski Avenue. Proceed up the hill on Pulaski Avenue approximately 7 blocks. There is an elementary school on the left. At the far corner of the school property is Hansberry Street. Our building is located several doors past this intersection, on the left. At the entrance is a chain link gate, and a long driveway leading to the workshop building.
Take I-476 South to Route 76 East and proceed as "From the West", above.
From the Northeast: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 6 (Pennsylvania
Turnpike, I-276). After you cross the bridge into Pennsylvania, take Exit 351
(Route 1 South), approximately 7 miles into Pennsylvania. Proceed South on Route 1 for 15 miles, to the Fox Street Exit (right hand exit). At the top of the exit ramp, at the stoplight, turn right and go to the first intersection, which is Queen Lane. Turn right on Queen Lane, and proceed to Pulaski Avenue, approx. 7/10 miles. Turn right onto Pulaski Avenue, and we are on the first block, on the right. At the entrance is a chain link gate, and a long driveway leading to the building.
Parking: Please park on the street. There are usually spaces on Pulaski Avenue, but you may find more parking on Hansberry Street. Use the main front door (not the overhead door) and come directly to the second floor.
Public Transportation: From 30th Street Station, take the R8 (Regional Rail Line - Chestnut Hill West) to the Queen Lane Station (Wissahickon & Queen Lane). Walk Northeast on West Queen Lane, turn right onto Pulaski Avenue (about .45 miles). PFW is in the first block, near the end of the block, on the right.
