There are active debates among experienced woodworkers about the ideal front vise. Some favor a shoulder vise. Some favor a trigger style quick action vise, such as the older Record No, 52D. Some favor a gravity drop half-nut, such as the older Richards-Wilcox, or the newer Lie-Nielsen. Shown here is the Lie-Nielsen, and at PFW we have developed an installation method for this vise which we think will serve you well.
