Woodturning Course for the Total Beginner

Instructor: Mario Rodriguez
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (day)

Maximum Class Size: Approximately 10

Woodturning on the lathe can produce dramatic and beautiful results quickly. It’s the fastest- and most exciting way to turn rough-sawn wood into beautiful smooth, flowing shapes. This 2-day workshop will teach students how to turn between centers (as opposed to outboard or bowel turning).

We’ll cover the selection, set-up, and tuning of a lathe. The selection and sharpening of turning tools, special accessories, drive and tailstock centers, chucks, and steady rests.

Students will learn how to mount and center their work, turn it round, make precise tenons, create simple knobs and bun feet, and execute a series of rings, reels, and beads.
If you’ve never used a lathe before, you will be interested in this gentle, but thorough introduction to woodturning.

Course fee (including materials fee) $325

In order to register, please call us at 215-849-5174, or drop us an email and we will forward the registration materials.
