Building your own picture frames is a fun, rewarding, and cost-effective way to frame your favorite photographs or artwork. We’ll be using a sled on the table saw to cut the miters and a router table to reinforce the miters with splines. The result is a professional-looking picture frame you’ll be proud to hang on your wall or give as a gift. We’ll also discuss other methods for making frames at home.
For beginners, this is an excellent opportunity to gain some familiarity with woodworking while making a handmade picture frame. For more experienced woodworkers, it’s a chance to learn some new skills on a short project.
This class is appropriate for everyone. Each student will complete a picture frame that is 8” x 10” for photos that are that size or 5” x 7” with a mat, which we’ll cut in class. We’ll cut glass for the frame and provide hanging hardware. All that will be left for the student is to provide the artwork or photograph and apply a finish at home. No tools are required for the class.
Cost includes all materials.
